Paul and Laura Miller

Serving Metanoia Prison Ministries in Texas

Paul and Laura Miller married in August 2003, eager to start a life together in ministry. Paul attended Westminster Theological Seminary and, in 2008, took his first call as RUF campus minister at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. While serving in this role, Paul began volunteering with a local prison ministry at a nearby state penitentiary. The Lord quickly filled Paul's heart with love for prisoners. He continued volunteering at the McConnell Unit, wondering if God may call him into full-time prison ministry.

Paul believes that his life, with all of its highs and lows, victories and struggles, has prepared him to minister in the challenging environment of prisons. In 2019, Paul accepted the call to be the first Regional Director for Metanoia Prison Ministries in Texas. Laura has enjoyed volunteering alongside Paul in ministry for many years. In 2023, she officially joined the Metanoia staff as Paul's part-time assistant. Taking on this role has been a natural fit for her and is a tremendous blessing to the ministry. Paul and Laura are profoundly grateful for how God has uniquely shaped them to work together in prison ministry and look forward to continuing to share the glorious gospel of God’s saving power in Texas prisons.

Paul currently ministers in men and women’s state penitentiaries: Hobby Unit (women) in Marlin, Boyd Unit in Teague, Byrd Unit in Huntsville, Ellis Unit in Livingston. He also ministers regularly at FMC, a federal unit in Ft. Worth. There are opportunities at two more units in the works! Pray for open doors and deeper relationships with ministry partners, prison staff, and inmates. The women’s volunteer team continues to grow as they have been given more opportunities to serve in the Hobby Women’s Unit. Pray for the development of more in person men’s teams as well as ordained ministers who desire to preach the gospel in prison.

The Millers Three: Paul and Laura have a teenage son, Jack, who brings them great joy. The Millers enjoy traveling, good movies, and walking the neighborhood with their dogs, Thomas and Kevin. Jack is into music and theater. In Laura's spare time, she enjoys caring for the family, volunteering at Jack's school, and doing creative DIY projects around the house. Paul loves the Dallas Cowboys, hunting, chess, and cooking meals for friends and family.
